Please join us for our monthly CSSE meeting on Friday March 17th at the Executive Royal Hotel from 11:45 am to 1:00 pm.
Ryan Jacobson from the Saskatchewan Safety Council is going to discuss "The Safety Pyramid “Scheme”. Since 1931 when Heinrich published his findings, the safety profession has debated Heinrich’s Law. Many have analyzed this work and expanded it (Bird, Petersen, etc) while just as many offer to refute it. Some organizations have based their entire management system on a safety pyramid concept while others hold belief that it is meaningless or an outdated concept. Where does the truth begin and end on this much debated topic. Join us for a presentation and discussion on the Injury Pyramid and if it still holds validity for us in todays workplaces.
Ryan Jacobson is the CEO of the Saskatchewan Safety Council. He has the overall strategic and operational responsibility for the Council’s staff, programs and execution of its mission to “Work Together to Achieve a Safe Saskatchewan.” Ryan has earned the Canadian Registered Safety Professional designation.
